This is a pretty nice Spanish fusion joint in downtown Mountain View with a ton of outdoor seating. The night was nice, so we had dinner outside. We had A LOT, but they were all tapas so we're not that much of fatasses.
Fried calamari to start: Corn masa crusted, chipotle chile aioli. 100% recommended, very nice well-portioned dish - the amount was towering on the plate.
Brazilian Moqueca: Fresh salmon and rock shrimp in spicy coconut and corn broth, saffron, bell peppers, green rice. Kind of small, but really good - can't recall much detail...
Mexican Sopes - Duo of chicken picadillo and Cuban roast pork with mole verde, fried plantains. This one was okay. Came in a small little pot and the seasonings were so-so, but we did love the fried plantains.
Banana Leaf Chicken: Braised chicken in poblano chile, tomato, onion sauce, served in banana leaf, steamed rice. This one was a bit disappointing because it was small and too spicy.
Peruvian Ceviche - Fresh halibut marinated, fresh lime juice, red onion, fresh ginger, chili arbol, sea salt. This one was a hit - we are a fan of ceviches. The rawness was covered up by the onions and lemon juice, and the result was quite refreshing.
Finally, desserts. Yes, plural.
Tres Leche Cake - Coconut infused "three milk" cake with fresh fruit salsa, and meringue topping. A delight to the tongue, especially because it was so soft. D-lish.
Spanish Flan - Traditional Spanish flan with macerated orange, honey, and vanilla bean caramel. Tasted kind of just like the regular flan.
The service is very on point. Our waiter pretty much suggested everything on the menu - he was great. A hit! Definitely recommend going back. Just don't get the banana leaf chicken.
