Rachel and I came to La Strada by whim. I think we were aiming to hit up some other joint for dinner but we were too hungry to drive that much more. So we parked in front of the first restaurant we pulled up to on Univeristy Ave that we thought would be decent, and boom there's La Strada. It is a nice Italian place in the middle of Palo Alto. We sat outside and people-watched while eating.
We had fried quail legs, and formaggi artigianali (variety of Italian cheeses) to start. She had the oxtail and I had the duck, both of which are not on the current menu. The oxtail was slide-off-bone tender, and the duck was juicy and tender. Good thing is the portion - not too much, just right. For dessert, some Crema Bruna al Limon (creme brulee infused with Sicilian lemon). Overall very nice food with good location and lots of laughs. Maybe a bit of a wait for the food, but the service is decent.
