Damn... Temp Tuesday struck GOLD with this one! In downtown Redwood City lies this little place called New Kapadokia, a Turkish delight! For $6.95 I had a salad, a Turkish burrito, and a piece of baklava. But let's start with the appetizers: 3 dips - Humus (garbanzo beans, tahini sauce, olive oil, garlic, anand lemon juice), Cacik (diced cucumbers and garlic mixed in yogurt (best of the three), topped with olive oil, mint, and dill), and (I think) Cevizli Esme (walnuts, Turkish red pepper paste, and tomato paste mixed with fresh garlic, olive oil, and cumin) - all excellent with their fresh and soft bread (don't know the name), which comes complementary with a side of special butter that is also delicious. My entree was the Doner sandwich (beef with tahini sauce, onions, tomatoes, and parsley wrapped in lavas bread). The lavas bread looks like matza but soft and crisp, and the strips of beef were semi-tender. Good sandwich overall - but I still like the bread and dip better. Great place with nice atmosphere and unbeatable price!
