Fat Kid Adventure #47: Famous Dave's BBQ (Gilroy)

(Originally posted on September 19, 2007)

Went down to shopping at the Gilroy Premium Outlet, and what better to feed the empty stomachs after hours of walking than some off-the-heezy BBQ? This is precisely what Famous Dave's offers. To start off, we ordered some Sweetwater Catfish Fingers to whet the appetite and try out the many different BBQ sauces - Rich & Sassy and Devil's Spit is my favorite combo: sweet and spicy, but not too much. The Fingers were fantastic - crispy out with tender in = perfect. RaDa and I ordered the Famous Feast for Two - wow, wow, wow. Pulled pork on a toast, 6 spare ribs, 3 chicken breasts, 2 corn bread, 2 corn, large amount of fries, pinto beans, cole slaw - served on elevated plate so you can't see the other person's mouth when looking across the table but knows it is stuffed with BBQ-gooey delish. By the time we couldn't eat anymore, an hour had barely passed by. Each table comes with a giant roll of Bounty the cleaner-quicker-picker-upper paper towel because things do most definitely get MESSY. Judgment: worth the try if you are hungry for hogtown.
